HERITAGE ARCHITECTS

Listed by The National Trust, 301 Ann Street is one of the rare examples of Art Deco architecture in Queensland. In the refurbishment all notable Art Deco ornamentation was retained and the Art Deco context guided the design process throughout.

Due to the historical nature of the building, certain concessions were allowed. The original timber lifts and doors, for example, maintain the character of the building.
Specialised facilities were required for the banking chamber on the ground floor. Durable surfaces with an up market finish, such as marble and granite, were utilised.

Dropped ceilings follow the accentuated curve form of the interior, and a signage system was developed to fit flush with the existing marble architecture of the building.
